I was just looking over the Photo section under "Other Landmark Buildings" and I think I solved the puzzle of "The Grove Street Barracks" picture for Tom Jennings. I think this picture was printed as a mirror image or reverse image. If you can picture it this way (in reverse) everything looks familiar! The big apartment building on the corner of Liberty and Maple with the police garages across the street. Kearny ave is not in this picture ( it's cut off at the bottom left corner). The little store across the street from the barracks (now called Ted's Deli) is hidden behind the tree . Try to remember this is looking north west but because of reverse you think it's north east. Have fun with this brain teaser!
